Description
49 and 51 Dale Street are two houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone, with brick at the rear and a graduated stone slate roof. Each house has a double-depth layout, consisting of one bay and two storeys. The doors are located to the right and feature square-cut surrounds, accessed by four steps. Each house has a ground floor window with three flat-faced mullions and a continuous first floor window, totaling 11 lights, although five of these are blocked. There is a brick ridge chimney stack and a concealed eaves gutter. The rear of the houses has similar door surrounds and windows with three and five lights, many of which still have 8-pane casements.
