Description

Milestone located at the junction with Thorpe Lane, dating from around 1760. It is made of stone and features a plain square shaft with inscriptions on two adjacent sides: "To Manchester 10 Miles" and "To Huddersfield 15 miles." This milestone is situated on the Austerlands turnpike road, which was established in 1759.
