Description
Mayfield is a house from the 18th century located on Cooper Street in Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a slate roof. The building has a two-bay, single-depth design with two storeys and an additional l-bay extension on the right side. Notable architectural details include a projecting plinth, quoins, and a moulded eaves cornice.
On the front, there are four and five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows flanking a central door. The first floor has an eleven-light workshop window. The rear of the house features two and three-light mullion windows similar to those at the front. The later-added bay on the right has a square-cut door surround and two-light windows on each floor. There are also 20th-century gable windows and a 20th-century lean-to addition at the rear. A ridge chimney stack completes the structure.
