Description
The lodge to the former Didsbury Lodge is a mid-19th century entrance building that has been altered. It features white-painted roughcast render on brick and has a slate roof. The structure has a square plan, with a late 20th-century addition at the rear. Designed in a classical style, it is a single-storey building with a symmetrical two-window facade. Notable architectural details include a plinth, a thin string course that defines the lower border of the former frieze, and a moulded cornice. The central rectangular porch is flanked by corner pilasters and features an entablature, cornice, and pediment, along with a round-headed doorway that has a moulded surround and keystone, with 20th-century glazed doors. The lodge also has four-pane sashed windows with raised sills and moulded architraves, which are replicated on the sides. The roof is shallow pyramidal, topped with coupled chimneys at the apex.
