Description
Trezemper Lodge is a lodge built around the mid to late 19th century. It features dressed serpentine stone brought to course, with dressed granite used for the quoins, sills, archstones, and lintels. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate with glazed ridge tiles, and it has projecting eaves and verges adorned with cusped and pierced wooden barge boards that have wheel cross terminal medallion pendants.
The lodge has a symmetrical layout with two main rooms on either side of a central stair: a kitchen/living room on the left and a parlour on the right. In front of the stair vestibule is a projecting two-storey porch. There are chimneys on the back wall and a slightly later single-storey service wing that extends at right angles behind the kitchen. The design incorporates elements of the Tudor-Gothic style.
The building is two-storeys high with a symmetrical three-bay front, featuring a central projecting two-storey gabled entrance bay that includes a central four-centred arched doorway. The original four-panel door has flush-beaded bottom panels and glazed panels above. The front window openings are tall and narrow, each fitted with two-light wooden mullioned windows that have two-pane casements in each light. The gable end windows are wider, with four lights on the ground floor and three lights above. Inside, the lodge retains its original dog-leg stair with a turned newel post and ball finials, and there is a large fireplace in the left-hand room.
