Description

Forge Lodge is a lodge built around 1860, constructed from ashlar stone with slightly projecting quoins. It features a decorative tiled roof with four pairs of Tudor-style ashlar chimney stacks and decorative bargeboards, each adorned with a single finial and pendant. The lodge is set on a plinth and consists of two storeys with three bays.

The central bay projects on the first floor and is supported by cast iron columns of an arcaded porch, which has a single segmental central arch flanked by pointed arches. Above the porch is a cast iron modillion cornice. The central doorway has a panelled door with a chamfered stone surround, flanked by single projecting windows, each featuring tripartite stone transoms and mullion glazing bar casements.

On the first floor, there are three smaller casements above, with the central one having a Tudor-style hood mould. The outer two windows break into the eaves and are gabled, each with bargeboards, finials, and pendants. Both gables have a single similar bay and a single similar casement above. The rear of the lodge mirrors the front, but the door is double and partly glazed with glazing bars. All windows have stone surrounds, and those on the first floor feature decorative voussoirs.
