Description
Hazel Gap Farm is a farmstead dating from around 1790, possibly designed by John Carr. Part of the complex was converted into a farmhouse in the 19th century. The main facade features a pair of arcaded pavilions that shield the farmstead from the road. The buildings are constructed of red brick and have hipped pantile roofs at the front and sides, with a gable at the rear. The left outbuilding includes a single central red brick chimney stack. Each outbuilding has a pair of tall arches with impost bands and recessed panels below. The left building also features wooden panels above the band. The sides of each building have single similar arches, with the left building's arches being open and the right building's arches blocked. Attached to the rear of the right building and extending at a right angle is a two-storey red brick barn, which has a pantile roof with dog tooth eaves and a large blocked opening. At the rear of the left building, running at a right angle, is a brick and pantile house with varied window designs.
