Description
The Archers is an estate cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a rendered finish and features hipped and lean-to pantile roofs. The building has a rendered plinth, rebated eaves with a deep overhang, and central grouped octagonal stacks. It is a single storey plus attics structure with a square plan and lean-to additions.
The south front includes a set-back lean-to on the west side, which contains a cant-headed door. To the right, there is a Gothick casement window, and above it, a gabled dormer with a similar casement. The east side features a glazed porch at the return angle and a central gabled dormer with a Gothick casement above. The west side has a single Gothick casement window.
This building is part of the complete Estate Village laid out by Earl Manvers of Thoresby Park between 1807 and 1812.
