Description
Woodland View is an estate cottage and adjoining outbuilding dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a rendered finish and features a hipped slate roof and a stone plinth. The building has two storeys and a square plan with three bays. The east front includes a central hipped brick porch with a recessed central bay flanked by square piers, and a small casement window. To the south, there is a door with a moulded surround, flanked by two casement windows, one of which is Gothic in style. Above this, there is a central blank window flanked by two smaller casements. The north front has an off-centre door, with a Yorkshire sash window to the left and a 20th-century casement to the right. The west end features a hipped lean-to addition with a door and a 20th-century casement. The south side has two casements and, above, a casement to the right. Adjoining the cottage is a single-storey outbuilding from the late 19th century, made of brick with a pantile roof and a single side wall stack. This outbuilding has two doors to the north, a 20th-century garage door to the west, and a barred Yorkshire sash window with a segmental head to the east, along with an adjoining toilet block. Woodland View is part of the complete Estate Village laid out by Earl Manvers of Thoresby Park between 1807 and 1812.
