Description
North Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1807, likely designed by William Wilkins Jr. It features a combination of brick and stone construction, rendered on the exterior, with hipped plain tile roofs. The building has a stone and brick plinth and a rendered finish, along with a partial first-floor band. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a square plan that includes a rear wing.
The windows are primarily Gothick casements. The south front showcases a central two-storey half-round bay with a mock timber-framed gable, which includes three round-headed openings and a half-glazed door, flanked by single casements. Above this, the central bay has three small casements, flanked by larger casements.
On the west front, there is a plain casement to the left, with two Gothick casements to the right, and another casement beyond the boundary wall. Above, there are three Gothick casements. The west gable features a single 20th-century casement on each floor.
The east front has three casements to the left, followed by a door, and then a 20th-century casement to the right. Above, there are four casements, one of which is smaller. The north front includes a segmental-headed recess containing a door with Gothick tracery to the left, and a 20th-century casement to the right. Above to the right, there is another 20th-century casement.
A late 19th-century addition to the north includes a casement to the north and a Yorkshire sash to the west. This farmhouse is part of the complete Estate Village laid out by Earl Manvers of Thoresby Park between 1807 and 1812.
