Description
The farm buildings located west of the Church of St Giles were originally part of Scotland Farm and are now part of Manor Farm, including accommodation for a groom. They were built in the early 19th century, with later alterations and additions made in the 19th century. The buildings are constructed from red brick with ashlar dressings and feature a pantiled roof with two brick stacks, one at the gable and one at the ridge.
The structure is two stories high, showcasing corbelled out and dogtooth eaves. It forms an open-sided courtyard that includes an L-shaped two-story range and a single-story range. Facing the courtyard, there are numerous cast iron glazing bar fixed lights with central hinged casements. The longer two-story range originally had six bays but was later extended to ten bays in the 19th century. It features an off-centre two-story double leaf door at the eaves, with four fixed cast iron lights on the left side for both floors. On the right, there is a single similar window, along with altered doors and windows beyond. The first floor has four cast iron lights and a plain sash window beyond. The end two bays, marked by the stacks, formed a separate house. All windows have splayed ashlar lintels and sills.
The shorter two-story wing consists of nine bays, featuring a variety of barn and ordinary doorways, along with three windows on the first floor. The single-story, single-bay gabled advanced block served as a former engine house.
