Description
Millwood Lodge is a lodge built around 1860, constructed from ashlar stone with slightly projecting quoins. It features a decorated tiled roof with four pairs of Tudor style ashlar chimney stacks and decorative barge boards, each adorned with a single finial and pendant. The building is set on a plinth and has two storeys with three bays.
The central bay projects on the first floor and is supported by cast iron columns of the arcaded porch, which has a single segmental central arch flanked by pointed arches. Above the porch is a cast iron modillion cornice. The central doorway has a panelled door with a chamfered stone surround, flanked by projecting windows that each feature tripartite stone transoms and mullion glazing bar casements.
On the first floor, there are three smaller casements similar to those below, with the central one having a Tudor style hood mould. The outer two casements break into the eaves, gabled with barge boards, finials, and pendants. Each gable has a single similar bay and a single similar casement above. The rear of the lodge mirrors the front, but the door is double and partly glazed with glazing bars. All windows have stone surrounds, and those on the first floor feature voussoirs.
