Description

The farm building located 10 metres south of Parkmoss Farmhouse is likely from the mid-18th century and was altered by the Arley Estate in the late 19th century. It features English garden wall bond brown brickwork and a grey slate roof, with the left portion graded. The barn includes a central threshing porch with a full-height doorless opening, flanked by brick piers that support a chamfered oak lintel, and has a stone-flag threshing floor. To the left of the porch is a small inserted casement, while to the right are a 4-centred rebated archway and another small inserted casement. There are four diamond-shaped vents to the left and two oval stone-lined pitching-eyes.

The recessed right wing, likely from the mid-19th century, features a cart doorway with a reused oak lintel and a boarded door in a 4-centred arch, as well as an inserted casement. There is also a boarded loading door in a rebated opening with a cambered cill and head. The left gable-end has two rows of three and one row of two diamond-shaped vents. Inside, there is a divided door in the left cross-wall of the threshing porch, round-arched openings leading to granaries, and oak purlins. This building forms the left side of the cobbled forecourt to Parkmoss Farmhouse and is included for its group value.
