Description
This farm building, located southeast of Wincle Grange, likely dates from the early 19th century. It was designed to function as a threshing and granary barn at its center, with shippons or stables beneath haylofts on the left and right, and a cartshed on the far right. The building features squared rubble walls made of reddish sandstone and roofs of Kerridge stone-slate, with some areas replaced by Staffordshire blue clay tiles. A tall segmental-arched opening is located at the center, although it is now partly blocked, with a small doorway opposite. There are window and door openings that have undergone minor alterations, as well as loophole ventilators for the lofts. The structure includes a 3-bay open cartshed supported by oak lintels. It is listed for its group value only.
