Description

Dane Bridge is a road bridge built in 1869, constructed from reddish-buff rock-faced gritstone. It features one deep segmental arch with a substantial span. Battered buttresses are located at the inner ends of the abutments. At road level, there are projecting smooth bands that support plain ashlar parapets. The corners beneath the arch are chamfered, and the date is inscribed on the keystone. The south abutment is situated in Heaton, Staffordshire.
