Description
The Church of St. Michael is a church built in 1882 by Edward Witts, with a tower added around 1820. It is constructed from buff coursed rubble gritstone and features a roof made of banded grey tiles. The church is a plain rectangular structure without aisles, consisting of five bays and a three-stage battlemented west tower. The west window has a simple segmental head, and the bell openings are fitted with louvres made of Kerridge stone. The building includes ashlar quoins and the nave windows have plate tracery. Above the priest's door is a lintel from a former church, inscribed with "R.B.-H.N. 1647." The interior is unadorned, and there is a font dated 1861.
