Description

Parkmoss Farmhouse is probably of mid-17th century origin, although it was substantially renovated and reclad in brick during the 19th century by the Arley estate. It is constructed of brown brick in an English garden wall bond, with a clay tile roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a right wing of two rooms and a cross-gabled section of two storeys plus an attic to the left. The right wing features a 19th-century gabled porch with a four-centred archway and an oak-framed gable. 19th-century moulded brick mullioned openings contain small-pane casements. The interior has an altered lobby-entrance plan. Features include an altered inglenook with an oak bressumer, a stop-chamfered oak beam, and a replaced staircase. The farmhouse is attractively positioned alongside a barn and shippon around a cobbled forecourt.
