Description
Payne's Farmhouse is a farmhouse, likely built in the late 17th century, with some alterations. The exterior is rendered, probably over brick, and features a grey slate roof. The building has one and a half storeys and two windows. The front doorway is blocked, and the lower storey has replacement windows. Above the doorway, there is a small-pane casement window with one leaded light, and a band runs along the first floor. A central ridge chimney is present.
Inside, the layout follows a lobby-entrance plan, with the front doorway now blocked. There are altered back-to-back inglenooks and two chamfered oak beams in the right front room. In the rear part of the house, the doors consist of six fielded panels, likely made of oak, featuring small central panels.
