Description

Greenfields Cottage (North) is a cottage dating from the mid 17th century. It is constructed with an oak frame, brick nogging, and a rendered rear extension. The roof is covered with grey slate. The visible 17th-century section, which forms a cross-wing to Greenfields Cottage (South), originally contained one room per storey. It has a painted sandstone plinth and a single small casement window on each floor facing the front. There are two small casements in the right flank, serving the parlour. A ridge chimney abuts Greenfields Cottage (South). The interior of the parlour features two chamfered oak beams, while the staircase is a replacement. Original oak purlins are also present.
