Description
Garland Hall Farm is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-17th century, with some early 18th-century additions and alterations. The building features red Flemish and English garden wall bond brickwork with stone dressings, topped with a stone slate and slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic.
The entrance front is made of Flemish bond brick and is symmetrical with three bays. There is a central doorway with a chamfered stone surround, leading to a 20th-century glazed door. On either side of the doorway are two-light mullioned casement windows, each with chamfered stone surrounds. A brick band runs between the two storeys. The first floor has two additional two-light mullioned windows on either side, with a stone band above them. The attic above is windowless. To the left, there is a 19th-century lean-to, and to the right, a 20th-century lean-to. The gable ends feature stone kneelers and coping.
Inside, the ground floor rooms have chambered end-stopped beams. One ground floor door has scribed moulding that matches the panelling, while the other doors are 20th-century replacements. The stairwell has close-studding, and the staircase retains its original deep handrail with panelled newels.
