Description
The garden seat located to the southwest of Arley Hall dates from around 1860 and is constructed from stone, brick, and rendered brick. The east front features a central moulded basket arch with a seating recess underneath. The keystone is adorned with a satyr's head. Above the arch, there is an entablature consisting of a frieze and cornice. On either side of the arch, there are pilasters, and two consoles in the center support pieces of projecting cornice, topped with ball finials. The lateral wall pieces on either side have ramped cresting, with the left piece ending in a brick pier that holds a stone ball finial. The right piece is similar but connects to the western walled garden.
