3/6 Stable, shippon and barn 10 metres north west of Crowley Green Cottage -

GV II

Stable, shippon and barn, probably mid C17 altered by the Arley estate later C19. Brick-nogged oak frame, partly rebuilt; and extended in brick; grey slate roofs. The building encloses 3 sides of a small open-fronted yard. Brick barn left has shallow threshing porch over full-height double doors, 2 rows of loophole vents plus 3 in front gable, divided door in inner side near front, loading door in gable, boarded door and altered opening in outer face. Rear wing has cart door left, 2 divided doors, 2 loading doors in dormer gables, 3 loophole vents and 1 casement in wall of oak small framing partly rebuilt in brick. Right wing has truncated full cruck truss in front gable, oak small framing to outer face with diagonal braces beneath eaves at each corner, loading door in gable, 2 boarded doors and 2 loophole vents on inner face. The crucks are halved for (removed) collar; the framed walls are on sandstone plinth; the rear face is rebuilt in brick.
