Description
Fallow Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage located on Dams Lane in Allostock. It features a whitened brick nogged timber frame on all elevations and has a roof made of old tiles. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of two bays, along with an added lean-to on the east side. The timber framing includes small sections with angle braces. A brick gabled porch has been added, which features an oak boarded door. The ground floor has three-light flush casements, while the attic windows are located only in the gables. The roof was raised with the addition of brickwork above the original wallplate after the thatch was removed. There are gable end stacks. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams, an inglenook beam, and one wide boarded door.
