Description
Townfield Farm House is a late 18th-century farmhouse that has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of old red bricks in English Garden Wall Bond and features a roof made of old slates, arranged in diminishing courses. The building has two storeys and is three bays wide, with a boarded door set in a built-up doorcase that includes an external architrave. The ground floor has three-light flush casements with stone sills, glazing bars, and cambered arches. The roof is designed with two spans, one part featuring a sandstone ridge and the other a saddleback ridge. Inside, the farmhouse has bevelled, chamfered, and plaster-cased beams, along with wide boarded doors, some of which are hung on H or HL hinges.
