Description
Millbank Farmhouse is a farmhouse, likely built in the early 19th century, with some internal features from the 17th century. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond and has a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high, featuring a two-window main wing on the left and a projecting cross-wing on the right. The lower storey has small-pane casements with three lights, while the upper storey has two-light casements, all set in slightly recessed basket-arched openings. The cross-wing has a larger casement in a similar opening on its lower storey. At the junction of the wings, there is a gabled porch with a basket-arched opening. The farmhouse has diminishing brick chimneys, with one located at the junction of the ridges, one on the ridge of the main wing, and one towards the rear of the cross-wing. Inside, chamfered oak beams in the cross-wing suggest a 17th-century origin, while the main wing is likely early 19th century. The front and right faces of the farmhouse present an attractive, informal yet cohesive character.
