Description

Free Green Cottage is a late 17th-century house located on Free Green Lane in Peverley Inferior. The house is timber-framed with rendered and whitewashed brick infill, and originally had a thatched roof, now covered with slate. It comprises ten cells across the front and five across the right-hand gable end. The front of the house has a stone and brick plinth. The ground floor has six casement windows, and a dormer window has been added to the first floor. A 20th-century extension is present on the left-hand side. The right-hand gable shows timber framing with angle braces, and features a queen-post truss at the apex of the gable, including a V-strut. A two-light casement window is visible in the gable, along with a 19th-century chimney stack situated to the left of the centre.
