Description

The building comprises a school and former schoolmaster's house, dating from the 1870s. It is constructed of brown brick and timber framing, with tiled roofs. The school is a long, single-storey building, linked to the schoolmaster's house which projects forward to the left. The school building has a black-and-white end gable and a small cross-gable in the centre of the front, featuring a lateral chimney. It has small-pane, brick-mullioned windows. The schoolmaster's house is of one-and-a-half storeys and includes a recessed porch with a part-glazed door under a pentice roof. There are small-pane, brick-mullioned windows on each side of the porch, and a black-and-white dormer gable. A black-and-white end gable is situated above a ground-floor bay window with a lean-to roof. There is a one-and-a-half storey link connecting the schoolmaster's house to the school building. Other features include one brick chimney behind the ridge and one on the rear slope of the left gable. The interior has not been inspected. The building forms part of an attractive group surrounding the churchyard and is included on the list for its contribution to the group’s character and appearance.
