Description
This cottage, located approximately 15 yards south-west of the Gamekeeper's Cottage, dates from the 17th century. It is timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys.
On the entrance front, there are 12 x 2 cells of small framing, with angle braces on both the left and right sides and both angle and tension braces supporting the central post. The entrance door is positioned at the far left, with three 2-light casement windows to the right. A two-light gabled dormer casement window is located to the left of centre. The roof was raised in the 19th century or this century.
The right gable end displays 6 x 2 cells of small framing, featuring angle and tension braces, as well as uprights and V-struts at the gable. The left gable end has 6 x 2 cells of uneven small framing, with angle braces, uprights, and a V-strut at the gable.
At the rear, there are 12 x 3 cells of small framing with some variations. This side includes two doors positioned left of centre, two ground floor 2-light casement windows, one 2-light gabled dormer on the left, and a four-light casement window to the right of that.
