Description
Piccadilly Cottages, located on Morfe Lane in Enville, is a cottage dating from the 17th century with alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, with some parts rebuilt in red brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there are brick stacks at the external ends. The cottage is oriented north-west to south-east and features one storey and an attic, with a dentilled eaves band.
The building has two bays, with casement windows that have segmental heads, and two gabled attic dormers also containing casements. There is a small central stair window located just below the eaves level, and the door is positioned to the left of centre. The gable ends display exposed timber framing consisting of three square panels up to the eaves, along with straight braces and queen strut roof trusses that support a ridge piece and a pair of purlins.
Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and a winder staircase located immediately south-east of the front door.
