Description
The Establishment is a house that has been converted into a shop and office. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof featuring raised verges and brick integral end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main section oriented north-east to south-west and a rear wing at the south-west corner aligned north-west to south-east. It stands two storeys high with a gable-lit attic and has storey bands.
The front facade consists of three bays with glazing bar casements that have segmental heads. The ground floor features windows to the centre and left of centre that are 19th-century insertions; the left window occupies the original position of the front door. The right-hand window is wider than the others and was once part of a pair flanking the central door, which has been blocked. This position is now taken by a 19th-century four-panel door with a triangular hood. The two-storey, single-bay rear wing also has casements and a storey band.
