Description
Blundies Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber frame with brick infill and red brick additions, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has a brick ridge stack and a lateral external stack. It has an L-shaped plan, with the 17th-century range aligned north-east to south-west facing south-east, and an extension wing to the north-east aligned north-west to south-east, which was extended in the 19th century to the south-east.
The south-west front shows a gabled and rendered 17th-century range on the left, with a set-back 18th/19th-century wing on the right. The farmhouse has two storeys and features a one-to-two window arrangement, primarily with casement windows. The right-hand return of the 17th-century range includes two glazing bar sashes with horns and a door in the right-hand corner, all of which have segmental heads. The 17th-century timber-framed gables on the north-east and north-west sides have square panels and straight braces. Inside, there is a 17th-century newel staircase with splat balusters and a faceted newel finial.
