Description
Mere Mill is an early 19th-century water mill constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof. The building is oriented north-east to south-west, with the south-west gable facing the road. It has one storey and a loft. The south-west end features a four-panel loft door with a segmental head. At the north-east end, there is a boarded door to the ground floor on the right, also with a segmental head, alongside a blocked ground floor window to the right and a central loft window, both of which have segmental heads. On the south-east side, there is a semi-circular arch providing access to the mill wheel, with two segmental arched windows above. Inside, the mill contains a six-spoke cast iron overshot water wheel with a wooden shaft, sole-boards, shrouds, and buckets, as well as a wooden upright shaft, crown wheel, and counter-shaft.
