Description

The Bathing House, dating to the late 19th century, is situated off Horsley Lane in Beeston. It is constructed of stone, brick, and timber framing. The building's front features a stone buttress on the far right, with offset detailing. To the left of the buttress is a timber-framed hut creating a ground-floor loggia supported by four posts. The loggia incorporates angle braces and balustrades featuring splat balusters, with a central open bay providing four steps leading upwards. A clapboard-clad pumping house was erected around 1940 within the loggia. The first floor and gable display decorative timber framing. A stone wall extends to the left, while the right-hand wall is of sandstone. The rear of the building is brick, with a wooden loft door centrally positioned on the first floor. C17th panelling originally lined the loggia and remains within the pumping house.
