Description
Beech Tree Cottage is a house that dates back to the 17th century, with 19th-century additions and alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a plain tile roof, including a 19th-century gabled wing on the right made of snecked stone.
The entrance front shows the 17th-century part on the left, which has a stone plinth supporting nine by two cells of small framing, complete with angle and tension braces. There is a central ground floor canted oriel window with a canted, hipped roof, likely replacing a former doorway. To the left of this oriel is a three-light casement window, and to the right is a similar two-light window. Above these, there is a three-light gabled dormer window.
On the right, the 19th-century gabled wing features a door on the ground floor and a three-light window to the right, which has a heavy stone lintel above it. The gable above is timber framed with brick infill and includes a three-light 20th-century casement window. The left gable end has five by three cells of small framing, with additional small framing in the gable.
