Description
Brook Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is timber framed with brick infill and features a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and a T-shaped plan. The entrance front has a recessed section to the left of centre, consisting of eight by two cells of small framing with angle braces set on a stone plinth. There is a door on the left and two and three-light casement windows to the right. To the right is a gabled wing with corner posts and angle braces, although the gable and lower wall have a painted simulation of timbering. The ground floor of this wing has two-light casement windows, and to the left of it, there are three by two cells of small framing. A 20th-century dormer window is located on the left side of the first floor. On the right-hand return, there are five by two cells of small framing with angle braces, a door on the right, and two two-light ground floor casement windows to the left. Above this is one continuous 20th-century dormer window that includes two four-light casements divided by a king-mullion. There is an outshut at the rear. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature chamfered ceiling beams.
