Description
Castleside Cottage is an 18th-century house located on Castle Road in Beeston. The building features whitewashed stone rubble walls and a plain tile roof, which was likely originally thatched. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and has a symmetrical entrance front with three bays. The central door is flanked by 2-light casement windows, all dating from the 19th century. The height of the walls has been raised, and there is a 19th-century lean-to on the left side. The right gable end has three single-light windows on the ground floor and one 2-light window on the first floor. A chimney stack is located at the left gable end. Inside, the cottage has chamfered ceiling beams in the parlour and a chamfered bressumer above the hearth, which features a replaced 20th-century fireplace.
