Description
Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century additions on the right side. The structure is timber framed, featuring angle braces, red brick nogging on the ground floor, and plaster infill panels on the first floor. It has an old tile roof with an end stack to the left and a tile-hung gabled eaves dormer on the left that contains a 3-light leaded casement window. There is a gabled cross wing that is off-centre to the right, showcasing an exposed queen post truss and a 3-light leaded attic casement window. The cottage consists of four framed bays and is one and a half to two storeys high. On the first floor, there is a small 2-light leaded casement window off-centre to the left. The ground floor has a 3-light leaded casement window to the left, another 3-light leaded casement off-centre to the right, flanking a small 20th-century leaded casement. A boarded door from the 20th century is located off-centre to the left, positioned between the first and second windows from the left. To the right, there is a 20th-century one-storey addition that projects out and features a 3-light leaded casement window in the gable end.
