Description

Mile stone from the 19th century, made of ashlar stone. It has a rectangular base that tapers through broaches to an angled stone. The base is inscribed with "Tarporley Township," and the angled stone displays distances to various locations: Tarvin 5 miles, Nantwich 9 miles, Chester 10 miles, Woore 18 miles, Stone 30 miles, and London 172 miles.
