Description
Gable House is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is built of red Flemish bond brick and has a slate roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a gabled entrance front that features two bays. The front includes segmental bow windows, with tripartite windows of 3 x 4 panes in the centre and 2 x 4 panes on either side, all having stone sills and flat arched brick lintels. The first floor has similar bow windows, which terminate at this level. There is a doorway on the left with a panelled surround and an open pediment. The central attic window is of Venetian form, featuring a heavy wedge lintel that rises to form an arch in the centre, with the upper part of the window being blank and painted to simulate glazing. The gable is adorned with stone coping and kneelers, and there is a central ridge chimney stack set back from the front.
