Description

Hunter's Pool Cottage is a 17th-century farmhouse, later adapted into a house, located on Wilmslow Road in Mottram St. Andrew. The building is timber framed with brick nogging and has a thatched roof, punctuated by two gable brick chimneys. It originally comprised three bays and is a single storey with an attic. The front facade features six-by-two timber frames with angle bracing of the wall plate. There are two 20th-century casement windows, a half-glazed door, and two 2-light iron casements above, all swept over by the thatch. Small brick extensions to the right and rear have Kerridge stone-slate roofs, and greenhouses are situated to the left. The interior preserves timber-framed partition walls, substantial ceiling beams, and the original roof structure.
