Description

Woodside Farmhouse is an early 17th-century farmhouse, with 18th-century additions and alterations and major 20th-century renovations. It is partly timber-framed with brick nogging, and partly English garden wall bond red brick, set on a sandstone plinth. The roof is slate, and there are two brick chimneys. The farmhouse has a T-shaped gable-entry plan, originally consisting of two rooms, and has since been extended. The east front has seven small timber-framed windows with three panes each, featuring angle bracing on the wall plate. A projection sits under the gable on the right end. All windows are now 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The west front is brick. Inside, the downstairs rooms have ovolo-moulded ceiling beams. A heck-post and firebeam are visible in the hall, along with a board door with L-shaped hinges.
