Farmhouse: C17 origins, major addition dated 1722, and rebuilding of timber framed portion of late C19. Flemish bond purple-red brick and later English garden wall bond orange brick on rubble sandstone plinth. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 3 lateral brick stacks. L-shaped plan. 2 and 3-storey, 5-bay east front. Left 3 bays of 2 storeys on lines of earlier timber framed house. Now has cambered brick heads to 2-light casements, with applied lead glazing and a 4-board door with iron strap hinges. Right 2 bays of 3 storeys under a gable with brick bands at 1st and 2nd floors. Similar door to left and wooden mullioned and transomed windows in each storey with leaded iron casements, one with a scrolled catch. Heavy roof timbers project at gable. Datestone reads HSC 1722. To rear there is a 3-light stone mullion in the plinth lighting the cellar. Rear also shows some timber framing.
