Description
Barnhill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with brick infill on the right-hand bay and part of the south side. The left side has two bays that have been refronted in brick, and the left gable is made of 18th-century brick, which includes a first-floor band course and coping. The roof is a mix of old and modern tiles. Originally, the building was in an L-plan layout, with a 20th-century extension added at the rear angle. The farmhouse stands at one and a half storeys, with a south-facing front that has three bays, the rightmost of which is lower. The ground floor has paired wooden casements with segmental heads, while the first floor features two casements in gabled semi-dormers on the left. There is a 20th-century door located between the left bays, which has a lean-to hood.
