Description
Mill Cottage is a former mill manager's house, now a residential property, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of washed and rendered brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. It has a square plan and is two stories high with a symmetrical three-bay front. The end bays contain two-light wooden casements with glazing bars, each topped with moulded stone flat hoods and stone sills. The central entrance features a five-panelled door set behind a trelliswork porch, with a similar window above. A moulded wooden cornice adds detail to the exterior. Inside, there is a closed string staircase with plain balusters, a softwood handrail, and turned column newels. The interior also includes a notable cast-iron basket grate set in a 20th-century stone surround and two six-panelled doors.
