Description
Styal County Primary School is a school built in 1823 for Samuel Greg, with a cross-wing added in the mid-19th century for Robert Greg. The building is constructed of red brick on a stone plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring two brick chimneys. It has an L-shaped plan and is a single storey with a six-bay southeast front. The left end bay projects forward under a gable and includes a four-light stone mullioned and transomed window beneath a flat hood, which has a loophole in the gable. The remaining five bays are symmetrical and feature restored wooden mullioned and transomed windows with glazing bars, set under cambered brick heads. These flank a four-centred arched stone doorcase with a projecting flat hood above.
