Description
Nos 29, 30, 31, and 32 Oak Cottages is a terrace of four weavers' cottages, now consisting of three cottages, built in the early 19th century for Samuel Greg. The cottages are constructed of orange brick in English garden wall bond and feature a Welsh slate roof with four brick chimneys. The south front is three stories high and has eight bays. The windows are 2-light horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars, set under cambered brick heads. The pointed arched brick doorcases have blocked fanlights and board doors, with outer doorways featuring gabled hoods and lean-to hoods between. This is the only block of true weavers' cottages in Styal village.
