Description
Oak Cottages, located on Altrincham Road in Styal, were originally built around 1820 for Samuel Greg and have undergone 20th-century alterations. This building was formerly six cottages but is now three. It features a rectangular terrace constructed of English garden wall bond red brick with a Welsh slate roof and six brick chimneys. The structure is two stories high, with a basement, and has a ten-bay front. The windows are two-light restored iron small-pane casements set beneath cambered brick heads. The three surviving doors also have similar brick heads, with two of them featuring lean-to hoods supported by wooden brackets. Access to the doors is via flights of four steps that include wrought iron balusters. Each basement has a small-pane window. The cottages are listed for their group value.
