Description
Styal Cross is a village cross that dates back to the medieval period but was relocated to its current site in 1981. It is made of buff sandstone ashlar. The structure features three square steps that support a square base with a chamfered top. The bottom of the shaft is square, and it has a tapering chamfered shaft that rises above it, though the top of the shaft is now broken off. The cross was originally situated at the end of Holly Lane, and during its relocation, the Victorian top was removed.
