Description
The Methodist Chapel at Farm Fold is a former seed store that dates back to the 18th century, with its conversion to a chapel occurring around 1820 and a new facade added around 1860. The building features orange brick in English bond on the front and English garden wall bond on the sides and rear, topped with a Welsh slate roof and a brick chimney. It has a rectangular plan with two parallel ridges and is a single storey with a three-bay west front that serves as an added facade.
The west front includes stone mullioned and transom windows that flank a projecting stone-coped gabled porch. This porch features a four-centred arched, chamfered stone doorcase under a label mould, which contains a pair of studded, grained doors. The south front exhibits a regular pattern of 16-pane sash windows over two storeys, with a blocked central doorway. Inside, the chapel is very simple, featuring a long west gallery supported by a line of plain iron columns.
