Description

Farm Fold Cottages, located on Altringham Road in Styal, are two cottages that were originally a farm building. They date from the 18th century, though they may be older, and were adapted in the late 18th century for Samuel Greg. The cottages are constructed of washed brick with a thatched roof and feature one brick chimney. They have a long rectangular shape and are one and a half stories tall with a symmetrical, five-bay west front. On the ground floor, there are three 2-light wooden casements with cambered brick heads and stone sills, along with two board doors. Above, there are three 2-light casements set in gabled dormers. These cottages are part of the original development of Styal village by Samuel Greg.
